Why can't I ram the idiots off the road for driving slow in the fast lane?

Because after ending up in court and watching your insurance rates go through the roof, you would feel like even more of an idiot!
I think it's best not to react angrily about slow or bad drivers on the freeway. There's too much rage in this world, and people need to take the time to relax. My solution is to think of someone or something in your life that puts you at ease, and I am not talking about killing people.
Because its against the law!
Beacuse YOU could get killed in the accident and what would we do without good calm drivers like you on the road ;)

Because they'll sue you and you could face aggravated assault with a vehicle, amongst other charges. I know it's frustrating when you're trying to go somewhere and get there this century...trust me, I've spent a good portion of my life driving, long distances and daily. On the same token, there is a speed limit and we are supposed to adhere it.again, I feel your pain, as this is a constant struggle for me! The whole speed limit and stop sign thing- sometimes I feel like they were intended for everyone else but me.and then I stop and realize, if everyone thought and drove like me, it could get hairy! Try driving in Germany-that sounds more your speed!

You can, but that would give you more headaches than just being frustrated. As was mentioned: higer insurance rates (for everyone), fines and fees, cost of new cars to replace the one you just wreck (both yours and the one you rammed) and a bunch of Medical bills that will surly put you in the poor house.
A better solution would be if people would learn to give 'right of way.' Which, believe it or not, is in the Motor Vehicle books. If you are impeding traffic, you ARE supposed to merge to the right (even in rural roads). Also, it is in the Motor Vehicle books that ALL traffic stay to the right (or right lane) in mulitlane highways unless passing. And, once passed the other vehicle, to safely move back into the right lane. But, most Americans feel they OWN the road and don't have consideration to others.
Only in Kentucy (so far) have I observed people staying in the right lane except to pass.
Now, on the other shoe, if you ARE speeding, you are breaking the law already. And, if the "idiot" in front of you is already doing 5 - 10 mph above the speed limit, they need not move over (unless they can safely move to the right). But, it would be a courtesy if they did. And, again, MOST American drivers ARE NOT courteous.
