Wiring a 2 opening bedside light switch - Urgent?

Light switch at bottom of stairs, One at top of stairs. Controls 2 lights, one at the top of stairs only controls the top one. Changed bottom feathery switch as its faulty,

Want to know what wires turn where... PLEASE!!


Answers:    A two approach or a three way switch? How masses wires on the old switch besides ground? Did the switches respectively control both lights in olden times? Or did each switch control it's own pallid? I need more information. Email for more support.
Were you not able to simply copy the feeble switch wiring??

On the NEWER switches they color the screw that you tighten the wires into, the same color as the wires within the wall.

-Or pull out the OTHER switch that DOES work and see be the hot is going in and the netural is going within. The ground should be on the side.

make sure the breaker or fuse is sour or pulled first.

What you describe means your electrical system is incorrect.
There should be two wires direct from one switch to the other with zilch connected to them.
I'm betting the top light is connected to one of them.
Sorry, can't backing more without seeing the electric wiring.
