what size do wooden headers need to be for on interior weight bearing wall?

Answers:
2x10 is the smallest you can use cause of your span with wood, but if you want to make it smaller you can use a 8 inch microlamb beam or if you want to go drastic, find out what size floor/cieling joist you have and put the header in the floor for a smooth cieling

Other answers:
depends on the span
depends on the span
Double two by tens with spacers between to equal the three and a half inch studs should do it.
2 x 12's doubled...10' is quite a span
You need to have your local lumber company spec out a glulam beam for you. Your span is 10 feet. Measure the distance on either side of the proposed opening the glulam beam will be holding up and what size of posts the glulam beam will be sitting on. Do not go to a Home Depot or Lowes. More times than no they do not know what you will be talking about. Go to a lumber company.
double 2 x 12 with a piece of 1/2 ply in the middle
(make it 3 1/2 inches thick)
make sure you glue and nail,
Double Stacked 2 x 12s. Set 12 inches inside pockets.
