How do you adjust a ballcock on a commode so that it stops running?

Our commode only runs in the order of once per hour. Surely there have to be a simple way to adjust the ballcock so that the commode is not calling for so much hose.

Answers:    Check two things.
Be sure the flapper which seals the drain at the bottom, is not leak. These become warped over time. This may allow hose to seep, triggering the dampen supply.

If this isn't the problem, the ball **** may not be adjectives off the supply.
At times I've taken the rod holding the orb and very attentively bent it downwards just a bit, use both hand. This allows the ball to cut past its sell-by date supply and prevent any continous flow.
Usually you bend the ballcock arm downward to adjust the water rank lower. But! It sounds like your loosing marine and every so often the orb **** drops and calls for dampen.I believe your flapper is not seating and allowing hose to seep out slowly because it requirements to be replaced. One more possibility is the ball have water contained by it screw it off and shake it you'll hear the marine swishing around,if so replace it.
It could be the rubber flapper that seats to close the hose down off inside is packed with sediment or **** of some genus;
Try cleaning it really well and check to be sure it isn*t dented or undermined somehow that could stop it from sealing properly. I in recent times fixed our yesterday by doing that and then putting petroleum jelly adjectives around the rim so that it seats really tight. Works fine presently.
there is a screw on the top of the float rod at the top of the river fill control, you can tighten this screw rather and the water will cut bad sooner! Good Luck!
