I do have a compass vent hood above the freestanding oven hardwired into the wall, maybe I could possibly draw the power from the hood for an electrical box for the tentative gas oven I will be installing. Would I need to do anything special to do that? In esp. next to the panel and the breakers? Kind of new at this stuff...appreciation to all who answer.
Answers: Yes you can use the collection hood circuit to power the control circuit of a gas oven. But I would call an electrician to do it. Faulty electrical work cause to many fires.
Don't give somebody a lift electrical advise from untrained and unqualified those. Including the sales individuals in the big box stores.
