Having a similiar disease with muscle and amalgamated aches myself, I can suggest another solution than the great ones above. You can gain hand held work devices that connect to the tub faucet that enable you to sit within the tub and use the massage settings on the joint or muscles that are hurting. And, on those days when she cannot hold the device herself, a loving, kind hubby can do it for his wife...(PS DIY doc is a great resource for instructions on putting the shower pat device on the tub faucet). It is cheaper than replacing the tub, doesn't have jet to keep verbs of bacteria and have multiple settings at different water pressures and pulses.
The problem next to replacing a soaking tub with a jetted one is that you requirement to be a carpenter, an electrician and a plumber. We found putting in a portable spa be less expensive than replacing the tub beside a whirlpool one next to our bathroom configuration. We did, find one company that could convert a regular tub to a jetted one, but hubby wasn't real joyous with the warranty, so we go with the faucet beside massager option mentioned above.
hi i own both fibromylagia and arthritis myself and have found something better than hot soak within the tub is a tanning bed! sounds crazy i know but trust me it works GREAT! i cannt afford my own so i go to the local tanning bed down the street for some pretext the heat soothes my bones for hours sometimes days
