Answers:    With adjectives due respect, it might begin, seeming as if it's a 5, but even for a DIY, can eventually become a 2 or even a 1. The ROOM is of minimum consequence to the process.

The greatest favor you can do for yourself is in PREP.

I paint, every morning of my life, and the extra time spent prepping, benefits me through every profession.

The assumed tedium, of mediocre prepping of the room, will reward you during and after the fact.

Drop cloths, Masking, proper brushes, roller nap, moving items to a center point, room to manuever not only a stepladder, but yourself as you move around a room.

If your choice is to paint the ceiling, do that first, even to apply to walls in the point of round-table.

Brush cut first, roll after, OR, as in the travel case of the ceiling and possible different wall color, use a Pad with wheel, to achieve a straight row, and leaving 1/16 inch of ceiling color, will never be notice.

Walls: If you choose to go lighter than what exists, use primer. If not, don't bother. It's repeatedly a wasted step.

Use wearing clothes tools and equipment, even for some notion that a throw away brush will save money. Buy clothed roller naps, that won't clog, or shed. Purchase a roller knob that allows threading a broom handle, or paint extension into. Follow a standard procedure for application, IE: roll a "W" and imbue in, as you remove brush strokes and roller farthest point marks. Do not Overload a roller sleep, but use a proper nap length for the surface, the amount of paint you want to apply at one time. Roll or brush, INTO the previous application, allowing smoothing/blending. Remove painter masking video as soon as possible after application of paint, in a serene PULL UP and toward the fresh paint, NOT like a ZIPPER. Keep a damp cloth handy. DO NOT assume that a drop cloth is paint resistant, unless stated as treated. I've seen more than one example of bed sheets or broadsheet being used, and tears subsequently when the expensive furniture or carpet be damaged.

Finally, cram from, and enjoy the experience. Certainly you'll touch the FLOW of the job become easier as you work it. Even for a single, here is no reason why you can't be out of the room surrounded by less than a workday, and enjoy it back surrounded by order.

It depends, mostly on how many window, doors, and other things you have to paint around. It's the detail work that make it hard.
