How do i replace a sliding yard door?
Answers: 1.remove existing doors-easy
2.if its original porch door the frame will have a staple fin.
it will be behind the siding or brick. cut threshold within half and verbs up slowly, this may start to break off the pin fin.
if your luck you wont have one, consequently there will be screw in frame. if you cant see them they re covered beside plastic caps.
removing frame will be most difficult.
3. unsullied frame in hole next to doors removed, both if possible. sometimes they screw and silicone stationary within.
4.plumb / level current frame, fasten beside new screw.
5. set doors in place check plumb by sliding door 1/4" from frame look at string good verbs to finish
1. hold the door from the bottom and lift it up till the bottom rises above the railing frame
2. slowly tilt the door outwards and holding it firmly, remove the door
3. the same method, remove all the doors.
4. Hold the exotic door from the bottom at an angle till the upper edge match with the railing and keeping the pressure up, put the lower end into the bottom railing.
first answer is good to remove the operating clause of your door unit but the fixed panel is typically held surrounded by by some sort of screw or bracing that will have to removed back the panel comes out. Youv'e also got to remove the entire frame of the existing door section. If your lucky it may just own a number of screw surrounded by the frame holding it into place and then the section simply falls out. But.....chances are your existing part has an exterior nail flange on it. Now we are talking nearly removing any exterior trim around the door to expose the flange so that you can unfasten from the wall. If you hold a brick exterior sometimes there is no ext. trim. That will stingy cutting and prying the frame out within pieces instead. As far as install a Crestline door in it's place simply follow the manufacturer installation instruction that should come with it. Good Luck
