I worked in an elementary school and one day I saw a tennis ball stuck on the end of an old broomstick handle and I asked the janitor what it was for? I was told to remove scuff marks. It worked. Take an old broom cut off the broom, then cut a small x in a tennis ball and insert stick this will save your back and knees

Maybe the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponges. You just wet them and they seem to get rid of almost anything. It got rid of some staining in the grout between my tiles, but I haven't tried it on scuffs.
