Answers: Sealants should not be applied to any pavement that is smaller amount than 3 months old and not in the past all traces of effloresence enjoy disappeared - there's no point paying good money to stamp in the effloresence! Recent research suggests that seal could take place as soon as 8 weeks after lay, if the paving is treated to remove all calcium carbonate from the surface, is allowed to thoroughly dry and afterwards sealed next to a low viscosity moisture-cured, cross-linking pre-polymer - a polyurethane sealant to me and thee!
Power washing is recommended formerly applying the sealant, although this should be done at least 14 days formerly sealing to see the bedding layer and sub-base to dry and allow for any reactive effloresence to appear, and the spar must be kept at a shallow angle to minimise loss of jointing sand.
Prior to any sealing, the pavement should be thoroughly inspected for minor fault, and to ensure the jointing is complete, ie, there is no jointing sand missing from the joint. You can use sealer straight away. The sooner the better.
It is usually a two coat process which should be done in 24hours. it should be dry by the end of the 2nd light of day.
