Can you pour new cement over exsisting cement?

I am building my own gargage, and I am starting with my exsisting driveway, but it slopes down and I want to level it up. So can I pour cement over the exsisting driveway?

Answers:
Hi, sure you can. You just need to prepare the surface that you are laying the new cement over. What you need to do is to roughen up the surface. This can be done by chiselling the surface leaving pock marks. This will provide more surface area for cement adhesion. Clear away the debris and wet the surface before laying the new cement over it. Not too much water or the adhesion will not be good. Best to put a slight slope on the driveway downward away from the house to prevent water pooling.
Hope this helps.

i've done it.....used an epoxy between the 2 layers, but i did it over an existing sidewalk. your application is much larger....could be cost prohibitive. there may be something else available nowadays.
try hammer drilling into the existing 'crete, and epoxying short stub-ups of rebar to tie the reinforcing rebar to.

yes baby u can do that u can put as many layers as u wish over a existing cement
Yes, but I wouldn't level it. It should slope to the Overheard garage door, if it floods. Plus use an expoxy between layers and a min of 2-3 in slab with control joints.
You also need to build the garage walls seperate from the slab, with either block or concrete foundation.

Oh yeah, it's concrete not cement.
it isn't that simple it depends on the existing concrete, thickness and condition.but it can be done.
cement means concrete ie OK,if it is cement mortar chip the area and spread cement slurry ( cement and water in a concentrated form)and and put the cement mortar ( Cement and sand mix)it will do. Cure( wet it after 24hrs) for minimum 5days.
yes,but use a bonding agent on the old cement before you lay the new stuff.
