Can you install recessed lighting in a manufactured home?

I'm trying to "Update" a 1996 Manufactured Double-Wide and would like to remove the ugly original lighting and install recessed lighting throughout the home. Is this possible? Can I use the regular housing that is available for stick built homes?

Answers:
it really all depends on the surface material you are mounting to, and how much clearance you will have behind it.
to be honest it is doubtful,
but to be sure you will need a professional inspection in person,

Other answers:
Call a electrician and ask before you start.
Call a electrician and ask before you start.
you need to go with a small high hat (Recess Light).
make sure when you do this make sure you run romex because thes will be up to code and just run the lights in line with the breaker now.
if one breaker covers kitchen only run kitchen lights to this do not add living room or utility room.just what is there.
another suggestion use spring bulbs that use only 19 watts that put out about 1200 lumens this is egual to 75 to 100 watts.
Try indirect lighting instead.
Run florecent lights across the tops of the walls, trim it with something to block the light bulbs themselves, and let the light on the ceiling brighten your home.
