The pvc pipe beneath my kitchen sink come unstuck.?
Answers: What's the question
re-glue it
It wasn't stuck. It is held surrounded by place by the ring it slides into. loosen the ring, put the pipe back into it and tighten it up.
"Unstuck" as within what way? Do you stingy part of the pvc pipe come away from the trap? Or the drainpipe leading to the trap come loose from the drain in the sink portion? Please flamboyant so someone can help you better.
you stipulation to replace it , it sounds like its worn out
Dear 'Leaky:' If the pipe is white, it's PVC; if it's black, it's ABS. If where on earth it came unstuck have a flat plastic 'sleeve' that it fits into, it's a glued collective: PVC glue is purple, ABS epoxy resin is black: use the correct glue..verbs the pipes away from each other a moment or two, apply the glue, shove them rear together quickly, because there's no 'grace period' near these glues.. If where on earth it came loose is a fitting that can be turned (i.e., have an internally-threaded nut), re-thread and tighten the coupler/union/nut hand-tight...over-tightening it will break it Some folks say not to use Teflon cartridge or Teflon 'pipe dope' on plastic plumbing, because it's a "compression fit" others say to use it...YOU opt. (I put Teflon tape on threaded fittings, 2 or 3 completes turns.)
Is this the drain? Sounds similar to it. If it will not stay in the other pipe/trap or anything and there is a threaded ring or nut you probably own lost the washer or seal ring. It's most likley lower than the counter someplace, look for a tranclucent white ring the size of the pipe. Slip the nut on the pipe, the ring with the flat side to the nut and the conical side to where the pipe join and screw the nut down hand tight. Fill the sinnk next to water and place a dry rag under the pipe to check for leak when you let the hose down out.
