can you put an above ground swimming pool under the ground?

Answers:
You can, but you will:
1) Void your warranty
2) Have to replace it every couple years
3) Run the risk of having the walls collapse
4) Make it next to impossible to service it when a problem comes up
5) Eat pumps (above ground pumps are designed as "flooded suction" devices. Setting them above water level makes them work much less efficiently and gives much shorter pump life.)
There are many other reasons why NOT to. Hope this is enough, though.

no you are better off just putting in a underground pool if that is what you want

no because it will rust. Also it would not be strong enough to survive lnog term. Tree roots or even animals could puncture the sides over time.
Yes you can. Do you want to do that?
Only if the ground is under the above-ground swimming pool.
I would say no... because the material for the sides of an above ground pool would probably no be strong enough to support the pressure that would build up from the groundpushing inward.. would be weather related.. excessive rain oor depending on location the freeze/thaw cycle of the surrounding ground..
if you lived in a place that typically gets cold in the winter. I think over time the maintenance cost would be more expensive than just starting with an inground pool .. sell the above ground one .. and use the money for a down payment on something you want :) ..
or find a really good way to reinforce the sides of the pool and hope for the best
sure ..... why not! I dont think it can handle the negative pressure of the dirt though.
Yes, I have done this. But you can not bury all the way. All items for pump have to be above ground. Also you need to put plastic between your pool walls and the elements. My four foot pool sticks out only 1 foot and has been fine for 10 years now.

Pressure from dirt is meaningless because you have water giving pressure the other way.
