We recently have new doors, door casing, window molding and casing, baseboards and a mantel installed. Its MDF paint grade, what description of paint should we use? Should we use a roller or a brush? What kind? We painted a passage around a door with semi explain white paint and it came out streaked and sloppy, so I'm trying to attain some advise on what we can do differently. Anything will support as I'm tired of it looking very dull and partial. Thanks!!
Answers: satin or semigloss are the nicest, because they are easy to dry-clean. get 100% acrylic latex (behr, expressions brand) unless adjectives your casings are flat, you will be brushing, but you can use a roller on most of the door.
acquire a really nice, soft bristle high trait brush (not the $1.99 special) and a very low pile (not poofy) roller, or even one of those paint pad for flat surfaces. dont go too gluey, or it will look streaky. two even coats will cover.
ps: when you call it quits for the light of day, take the brush and rollers , throw them contained by a grocery bag, and freeze them, a bit than do all that wash.
Any decent interior paint should work fine on MDF. From what you described (mostly mouldings) a paint brush seem to be the tool of choice.
