HELP: Best Watering Pattern for a Greener Lawn during Summer?
Can someone tell me what is the best watering pattern (and times) i should set the system for a greener lawn for these hot summer days? And it would be nice if you explained why
Answers:
03:00 to 04:00 20 to 30 minutes. is best, water long enough to allow water to seep into the ground.. not run off and over where ever..
why this time? reduces disease, evaporation also develops a heartier root system.. every other day is fine it maybe once a day or every three days.. you have to watch how your lawn acts.. don't forget weed & feed.. you probably already know but I'll type anyway.. do so when the sun combined with water does'nt effect your lawn
Other answers:
First off , water the lawn either late at night or early morning hours because there will be less evaporation if the sun isn't up and I have found that an hour twice a week is good. Watering an hour during dark gets you more ground saturation and less evaporation.

Never water at night. A landscaper once said never put your babies to bed wet.
Best to water daily, you won't drown it.
Water early in the AM. Set your timer to start at about 6:00 am.
During these really hot summer months it wouldn't hurt to do a second watering around 3:00pm.
As for why: The AM watering will start the day off with the supply of water needed to battle the hot sun that is coming. Like us, If we are in the hot sun all day, we need water to refresh us, therefore watering a second time in the afternoon.
This is how I do mine and I live in Florida's Panhandle and I have the greenest and fullest lawn in my subdivision.
10 points please!
