I'm using this for the first time in a bathroom in my house. After I put the 2 coats on the walls as per the instructions, there are some areas that are lighter brown than others. Now, I didn't do perfect criss-cross X's, which seemed difficult anyway in tight spaces. Is this normal? Do I Paint it again?

LOL it took us 4 coats of RL suede paint to get the color even. We used it on my friends bedroom wall and noticed that on the walls where the light came into the windows and hit directly, the color variation appeared to be the greatest. So I think you will be happier with the appearance if you apply another coat.
One other hint. Be careful about bumping or gouging the wall because this paint type is not known for its durability and it scratches off easily.
