How do I get rid of varnish? I just had a flower stand varnished but with the wrong color. I want it natural.

Answers:
I just tried a new non-toxic stripper based on citric acid. I forgot the brand name, but it's orange and it's a gel. I purchased it at Home Depot. I used to strip varnish off an old stained door and I was happy with the result. There were no harsh fumes, and I even splattered a little on my wrist (still use gloves and all) and I just rinsed it off with water with no burning sensation. It worked a bit slower than strippers based on mineral spirits, but that might be an advantage for your project. Good luck.
