Fix it problem?

Does anyone know how to fix a dent in an old plaster wall without removing all the plaster?

Answers:
try putting drywall screws into the area around the dent, this will hold the plaster that is still secure tight to the lathe.then remove the broken plaster and fill the hole with drywall. mud the edges and cover the cracks with mesh tape, let dry and give a second coat if necessary, sand and paint

Other answers:
use spackling, let it dry, sand it smooth with a block sander and paint away.

spackle it, sand it and then paint it
with new plaster, just feather it out to make it even, then repaint.
