Can you embroider on a Singer 7430 Sewing Machine?
I aversion to have to enjoy a special machine for the little bit of embroidery that I would want to do...
Answers: So long as your sewing domestic device can do zigzag stitches, shift in reverse and forward and you can set the contraption with nothing pressure on the pressure foot, you can make some pretty darned cool embroidery. Just so long as you're not trying to spawn precise stitches, as you would need for monograms.
What you requirement: An embroidery hoop, practice cloth, lots of thread, paper to backbone the design. A rough idea of what you want to do, as economically as a washable drawing medium such as a chalk pencil. This works especially in good health on smaller, more free-form designs.
How to do it: Set the stitch for zigzag, draw the design on cloth, put money on with quality newspaper, set in hoop. Place underneath presser foot, with no pressure under your own steam. Go back and forth over drawing, experimenting beside stitch length and bobbin tension. Caveat: doing this free-hand will not produce the smooth, professional style embroidery. More of an artisan style.

The Singer.com website does not include the Singer 7430 machine within its list of machines that are considered embroidery machines. However, because of the 145 or so built-in stitches on the 7430, you could probably create some nice designs, borders on collars or cuffs, etc. My Mom have created some really pretty pieces by using multicolored threads and double needles. Enjoy!
