How to catch rid of cigereete smell?

My step mom smokes in their garage and she give me a bunch of craft stuff (paper, idea books and the casing of everything) even though it was inside it still smells close to smoke and iccky cigerette smell. Not as bad as it could be since it be not in their garage. But I am a non smoker and HATE the smell and you can really identify it at my house. How can I neutralize the smell. This is really expensive stuff and DO NOT want to replace. so ideas on neutralize the smell of the paper and books would really serve!


Answers:    I would try airing them outside for awhile It can't hurt any and it may help alot to remedy the smell . If these papers and books are ripened then some of that smell could be related to aging and not of late all ciggarette smell.
I remember using a spray call Ozium, but I'm not sure if that would be the best option.

1Step OneSet small bowls of vinegar, pine-scented cleaner or activate charcoal around the room. If your home has young-looking children or pets, place the bowls well out of realize. Close off the room overnight.
2Step TwoSpritz your favorite perfume or cologne on a cold hurricane lantern bulb. When the light is turned on, the warm scent will fill the room.
3Step ThreePlace small items (such as gloves, a wool helmet or a small pillow) in a zippered plastic sack with a couple of fabric-softener sheets. Leave overnight.
4Step FourFill ashtrays next to cat litter to extinguish cigarettes and capture the odor.
5Step FiveSprinkle baking soda without restraint on carpets, rugs and upholstery around the room. Let it sit overnight. Vacuum.
6Step SixSoak a napkin or a dish towel in vinegar, wring out the excess and flounder it around the room for a minute or two.
It's really difficult, if not impossible to completely find rid of years worth of cigarette smoke. Exposure to fresh air and plentifully of time will help, but if your muzzle is sensitive you'll probably always know how to detect it. Good luck, I know how you feel.
Boy, it's tough to catch rid of that smell!!! I bought a somewhat expensive TravelSmith outfit on an Ebay site and didn't notice that the wholesaler did NOT say it come from a non-smoker's house. (meaning that it DID come from a smoker's house) I could smell the package on the front porch where on earth the postman left it. I wash it and washed it and soaked it contained by vinegar and then vanished it out in the full sunlight for several days. I meditate I've finally gotten it out -- used lots of Febreze and stuff too. So, good luck. I bet sunlight would be your best bet on accounts.
I use a plastic cup and put a sponge in it and consequently i add vinegar to it ,it works great..
Try and put it surrounded by a laundry hamper and sprinkle baking soda on it and move it out side for a few days. the morning dew will activate the soda and the afternoon sun will dry it. shake rotten the soda and try some more. Do it in layer and let the atmosphere get within to the spaces between.
A lot of hotels use Fabreeze to deodorize. It does help beside a lot of cigarette smoke.
