How can I fix a plaster ceiling?

This morning I took off the hoary spindles in my living room. Goodbye 70's! The ceiling below it looks pretty good, but near are some nail holes that requirement attended to. How do I fix this? It looks like something that can be done relatively inexpensive unless I phone in a professional. I'm departure it up to the Yahoo experts to help me out! Thanks!!!!!

Answers:    If it is lately a few nail holes, rather spackle is all you involve - and a putty knife to apply it to the nouns. Fill the holes, let it dry, sand it smooth. Repaint if compulsory.
Nail holes I use light shipment spackle. Big holes big areas I use joint compound (sheet rock compound).
