Question about installing a heavy bag on porch....?

I want to mount a "heavy bag" which weighs about 40 pounds on my porch outside, but want to make sure the beams will support the bag.
The beams I would have to use are 2 "1x6"'s that are next to each other, basically creating a "2x6" because they are together, and they look like 2 lower case l's next to each other- ll .
I would have to attach the bracket to the 1 inch sides of the beams, on the bottom. I thought I could put one bolt on one of the beams and put the other bolt on the other beam, so it crosses the 2 beams diagonally, which I thought would allow the two beams to share the weight of the bag.
Is this the best way to do it, or is there another way?

Answers:
You should not put a heavy bag of weed on your porch! You should smoke it, hey the Indians did it! Just kidding, however I am Aztec, good luck.

Should work okay.
Should work okay.
As long as the two beams are firmly together, I think you will be okay. But, make sure the bolts go through both beams. It is fine to insert one on one side and one on the other. If the beams are not actually touching (i.e., there is a gap between), you may want to consider inserting a short piece of wood between the two beams so you can thread the bolt through both beams and the "shim" in order to make the beams into one. Make sure your bolts are in the middle of the beams going from top to bottom. You don't want the bolt too close to the top or hte bottom of the beam.
