Answers: The Disto range by Leica is excellent (I seem to be to remember it's the most popular in the world.) Anyway, we're exceedingly happy near our Disto A5. It's tough (it gets used outdoors and surrounded by, and wet cold hand get clumsy!) and accurate for hand-held measure up to 100m (double that with a target plate).
The A5 costs lb289 + VAT -- the A3 is cheaper and smaller (lb179 plus VAT): the intertwine below is for Onsite Tools, where we bought from.
my hubby have just bought Bosch BL 2L professional from itslondon.co.uk and it come with a free try pod. He works for a paw made furniture company that fit expensive kitchens etc into big houses and has to enjoy tools that are precise and reliable there are cheaper version if this one is too expensive
