I had a Maple tree Fresh cut and split for fire wood.It burned better than seasoned. Why?

Answers:
sap content is nil, zero, as in none,, that is why the leaves drop and the tree survives winter,, the sap retreats to the roots,, your seasoned wood maybe have just been old wood that has dried out too much..

Other answers:
Don't know for sure, but my guess would be because of the high sap content in a fresh Maple. Much like Pine pitch, I would think that the sap would help it to burn longer.
