Cheap pool heat?

I'm looking for a cheap way of heat my pool. It's an above ground 21' in diameter.
Any suggestions?

Answers:    I hold an above ground 21' also. Only mine is "dug out" to deepen the center area to roughly speaking 61/2'. I use what I call my
"SOLAR HOOSIER HEATER".

I enjoy taken about 150' of black rubber (craftsman) garden hose and coiled it loosely atop my contiguous metal pool shed. This shed is in full sunlight adjectives day, and we adjectives know how hot they get. We also know what river left contained by a black rubber hose can do in the sun.

One termination has a ample pond pump connected, that I toss into the deeper area to capture the coldest water.

The other lapse I lay over the inside edge of the pool. The heated sea that comes out is usually 5 to 8 degrees hotter than the rest of the hose. We all enjoy used a hose that was gone on and laid in the sun. The hose down comes out scorching.

More hose and the water get hotter because it is in the sun longer. I will I had a larger roof to lay more on. I enjoy used this method for several years and I swear by it. I only permit this pump circulate during daylight hours.

I also wonder if possibly using a smaller, slower pump would increase the time the water is surrounded by the "SOLAR HOOSIER HEATER" and could get hotter.

I also use my solar cover when it get cold at night. I use the craftsman rubber hose because it is guaranteed and can be returned if the sun deteriorates it.
I hold heated my 16-ft and 12 ft pools wit an solar pool blanket and a homemade solar heater. After the sea in the pool go through the filter I add a garden hose that connects to 8 coiled black sprinkler system type hoses. The hoses are laid surrounded by the sun to collect the heat and later the water go back into a garden hose and into the pool. My father kept his black hosing on the roof of the house. I own mine on a tarp on the east side of the pool. Our water is other warm. I do enjoy a Y at the end of the filter and the establishment of the solar hose, so if we have a week of cold weather It can be diverted directly into the pool. You will call for to look in pluming department for the connections that convert from sprinkler hose to garden hose. I live within Denver Colorado.
here's a thought, you could modify it to your own specks.

The best way is to put a black cover over the pool when you are not using it. That path the sun will heat it for you free.
Debbie have a great idea. For a great page on pool wet -

A big wood stove. They generate a ton of heat next to little cost. My neighbors do it. I'm sure it would take a short time fabricating, but it's possible.
Debbie's answer is great.

If you attach a valve within the line so you can lessen the flow of water through the black hose, the sea will get hotter.

You will requirement to play around with the stopcock to find out the best position to get the best results. With a low flow, you may draw from hotter water ... but not satisfactory hotter water to formulate a difference in the pool. It might be better to own more water flowing at smaller quantity temperature to own a better effect on the pool temp.
This has get to be cheap.
Saw a very clever solution using only a garden hose & an old wash machine pump.
They lately pumped water from the pool onto the roof of adjoining garage & let it run posterior into the pool through the gutter.
This was an inground setup, but could be rigged for above ground.
Using same type of pump, a homemade solar kiln is also a possibility.
A shallow box made w/ a sheet of plywood , painted black inside. flexible copper tubing laced posterior & forth w/ hose fittings & valves on respectively & covered w/ clear plastic or glass.
Awater occupied black painted drum w/ copper tubing wrapped around it also works & was adjectives on Florida roofs as a poor man's hose heater for showering & wash.
Same pump & valve setup as panel.
Best regard.
