replacing yellow pvc pipe for gas line?

my husband was digging outside and cracked a yellow pvc line. I think this is for gas. Does anyone know how to repair the cracked section?

The yellow gas line is not PVC, and you DON'T glue. It is either going to be fused with a fusing machine or with a mechanical dresser coupling.
