how do you tar a flat concrete roof?
Answers:
First of all...How big are the cracks and where are they....it could be from setteling or something worse and just tarring the cracks is just putting a band-aid on the problem...Anyway...what you need to do first ...depending on the size of the crack is to fill the crack first... There are concrete fillers that you can get at Home Depot that are in a caulk tube....then you would tar after the filler drys...when you get the tar there is a horse hair brush that is best...covers a lot of area...wear long rubber gloves it is a messy job.....Good luck and if you have anymore question you can contact me at wood42ras@yahoo.com

I would consider using a product call "volkum". It comes in a tube and is pretty easy to apply into the cracks. I like to tell people that if the had volkum on the Titanic, it probably wound not have sunk. If the cracks are large enough to put a #2 pencil into you need to get some "backer rod", which is exactly what it's name implies. It's a foam product, looks like a rope or cord, and you stuff it into the crack before installing the caulking. You could have a roofing company tar and gravel your roof, but you might want to make sure the concrete roof can take the added weight of the gravel. There's a bunch of different products out there, you'll have to decide which on of them is the right one for your home.
Good Luck!!
