I just moved in to my dorm and I am stuck in the top bunk without guardrail? how to keep me from falling?

I can't ask for a change for my room nor my roommate. what do you recommend?

Answers:
wow, do you fall out of a normal bed...are you just being paranoid about sleeping up high. it would probably be easier to get over your fear of falling.

Other answers:
tuck the sheet into your bed very tight and try to face the wall

You can't sleep in a bed without falling out???
get a body pillow, and put it on that side of you... i didnt have a bunk bed, but i had a twin size bed that i was always falling out of. It works if something is there.
Don't worry about it. Unless you've had a problem falling out of a regular bed you won't fall off the bunk.
don't drink
Don't move
I've slept on bunk beds without rails, and while I was afraid that I would fall, I never did. I think that since I was always aware that there was a bit of a fall waiting if I rolled over, I never did because subconsciously I was aware of it, even in my sleep. You might try putting a body length pillow next to the ledge, so you will be less inclined to roll over. If you are really worried, you might try putting some pillows on the floor, just in case.
Hope this helps!
My brother was a sleep walker, and fell out of the top bunk every single night, while we were kids. Very noisy, and hard on the floors. Anyway, you can try putting your stuff on the floor, and sleeping there, if there's room. Get a sleeping bag, they're pretty cheap, or, put your mattress down there. Why can't you ask for a trade with your roommate?
u can buy a guardrail at any walmart or target in the nursery furniture section and some of them are big enough and strong enough for adults
be very careful....i had the top bunk when i was in basic training when i was in the army i faced the wall ...that seemed to help
Put something that goes across that looks like it's a restriction like rope or something, it doesn't necessarily need to be sturdy cause if somethings there you won't fall, it's mental.

Just try it, you'll be good..

If you're really worried talk to your Resident Advisor...
Make sure you go to bed sober.
Sleep cuddled up against the wall: That's what I did when I shared a room with my little sister.
you can buy soft rails that fit under your matress and come up on the sides.. so you wont roll out...i used this for my kids when they first got into beds
Get a two by four and four plastic quick clamps to hold it to the frame. This should keep you safe and not mar the bed frame either. Hope this helps. You can get all at a home center near you.
Forgive me if I seem insensitive, but this question is hilarious. Seriously. Thanks for the laugh. Try a rope. If there's something to tie it to on either end, try to make a little roped off barrier of some sort. Do the bunk beds come apart into regular beds? If so, there's an obvious solution for you, too. This was the case with the dorm bunks at my college. Good luck. Just get yourself wedged up in there away from the precipice.
1. Tie yourself to the bed
2. Sleep on the floor
3. Sleep with the person on the lower bunk (may require you to buy dinner and/or drinks first)
4. Get busy with someone else in the dorm who has a lower bunk
5. Take night courses, and sleep in your roommate's bed when they are in class all day
6. Invite someone to sleep with you every night; you take the side near the wall
7. This is where you might find a use for bed sized fly paper
8. Velcro pajamas and velcro sheets
9. Sew a sleeping bag to the matress and zip yourself in at night
10. Build a makeshift guardrail with your socks and all the school books that you won't be reading this year anyhow because you're too afraid to fall asleep

I hope this helps.
let me tell you my story, when i first encounter a top bunk, it was october 1979, i joined the Army, when i reported to my unit, it was 2 am and the drill instructor showed me where my bunk was. not thinking, i climbed up in the bunk and went to sleep, at about 5 am the drill instructor came in and woke us up. she call walked in the bay and hollered "ATTENTION!" real loud and we all jumped out of bed and the position of attention, well i forgot i was on the top bunk and you guessed it, i FELL on my face and the drill instructor told me i first have to climb down before i fall in to the position of attention, oh yeah! everyone on the bay laughed, that was the last time i fell off the bunk. from that point on if i was in a bay and i had to choose a bed, i would take the top bunk, because no one sits on you bunk and it is easier to make.

so basically what i am saying is remember you are on a top bunk and sleep closer to the wall, that way you will feel securety in the bunk if your bunk is against the wall.

good luck .
How often do you fall out of your bed at home? This new bed is just the same, only the legs are longer.

If you are still worried then tie a string from the foot of the bed to the top support. If you roll over and hit the string then it will probably be enough to wake you up, or at least make you roll over in the other direction.

I slept in a top bunk once and when the drill sergeant started banging the trash can to wake us up I jumped out of the bed. Then halfway down I remembered I was on the top bunk, ouch. I have avoided the top bunk ever since. But, for that week I was stuck on the top bunk and I never rolled out of it. Of course I only rolled out of my bed at home once. That was enough for my subconscious to remember that the edge of the bed means to roll back.

I usually sleep in a bed built for one person, but I have slept in queen sized hotel beds several times. I often wake up on the other side of the bed. My subconscious figures that it can keep on rolling over as long as it doesn’t find an edge; I am pretty sure that your subconscious will do the same.
I think they have rails for kids who go from the crib to the big bed, that slip under the mattress. The mattress holds it in place.
Tell your roomie that it's very hard for you to say it out loud....but ...(try to blush)...you sometimes get uncontrollable explosive diareah in your sleep and would prefer not to poo on her head.
If you ever do fall.. you will make dang sure you dont ever again
