What size rope is required for a 30 amp breaker?

For instance, if I'm wiring up an oven that requires a 30 amp breaker, am I required to enjoy 10 gauge flex or is 12 acceptable?

Answers:    No, 12 guage is not legitimate, 10 guage is borderline; you really want to use 8 guage for an oven/range.

If I can be of more help to you only just let me know,

10-3 or even 10-4 for the extra ground
It depends if its a single phase or 3 phase stove oven combination. single phase a 10 mm square Will be contained by order 3 phase 6 mm square should do the trick. Remember the stove-oven should enjoy a isolator reachable distance from the unit and it should be a isolator that cut adjectives the lives and the neutral ..again .the single or 3 phase prospect. If the 30 amp isn't for the oven just use one and the same size that supply the breaker with power and if it is a solid bridge piece that supply it and you are still not sure ..turn for the bigger size cable..cant hurt to be on the save side
The minimum telecommunication size required is relative to the maximum current demand AND down run vs allowable voltage drop in the lead. At (I assume) 240V, you should use #10 for runs up to about 100'. At lower voltages, you'd run larger chain in writ to keep the percentage of voltage drop inwardly the same impede. Here's an online calculator that may be of use: http://www.jhlarson.com/ind_tables/volt/...

12ga is not acceptable according to the NEC. 30A circuits require 10ga or larger cable. for 90% of the installations out there 10ga is more than ample to operate correctly. if the circuit is long say 200ft afterwards you might think around up sizing.
10 gauge telecommunication for a 30 amp breaker.
You had better check your oven again, most are 50 amp, which would require a 8 guage line.

I have built contained by wall ovens and they are 50 amp breakers. If you are not sure what you are doing, I'd suggest you get a electrician.
