constructing deck--need tube footing span under triple 2by10 beam?

I would go go with 4 tubes one on each end and span the others 9'4" on center, should be close to that, plenty strong enough!

It depends on what load your putting. Planter boxes, large parties, dancing, snow. Make sure you compact the soil in the hole. It's square footage not depth that carries the load. However, the freeze depth still applies.

You could space them at 10 feet and you could build a house on it
