I'm looking on the Internet right now for you for a book lock I don't know if they exist but you could put it contained by a combination locking bar shaped holder where on earth the book is placed within the encase and fit to size. it would be just 2 bar that wrap around the book strapped together, something like that anyways if I find it I will post my results. Since I'm not finding one you could stir to a metal worker and engraver and have one custom built to your specifications fitting your book and looking nice at like time too.
Tell people that its get a mechanism that if anyone else open it but you it will blow up in their facade and cover them in red dye similar to they do in the bank, it might work!!
there are locking straps sold for luggage and briefcases.. google that or hail as a good luggage store!
you can put it on beside super glue nice little locks are found every where on earth so glue it
Depending on the size of your diary, try a padlock near a really long hasp - the sort that would normally be used for securing the lid of a middle heating grease tank.
Pushed tight it would be virtually stubborn...
Or you could buy two and make sure they are coupled with a flawless chain to stop them self removed.
Why not glue it .
Buy a secure.
