Making a curved shelf for a bookshelf...?
I don't know the exact dimensions because I was never impressively good at calculus. I do know that I'll be making th shelf next to 1 inch or 3/4 inches, and that the curve of the shelf will go up 2 inches, down 4 inches, afterwards back up 2 inches again. The shelf will be between 6 and 10 inches open as well. I want it to be a fundamentally smooth look, like one piece of wood flowing. I plan on fine art it though, so it doesn't have to be surefire.
Can anyone tell me the best process to make a shelf similar to this?
Answers: I think you call for to try to draw it and talk to a cabnet designer, good luck beside it ... sounds like a urge
i dont think you are going to go and get that kind of bend from 3/4 surrounded by,. stock...i would have it re-sawn into 1/4 surrounded by. boards, or buy 1/4 in. stock and laminate it. you will obligation a form to clamp it to and just cement up the laminations and clamp to the form...cut your ends off square when the epoxy resin dries...
