advice for when I move please?

I am getting ready to move into a house with my 10 month old son so we have a home for when my husband gets home from iraq. any suggestions on the best way to move? I'm sort of new at this.

Answers:
Move anything fragile or irreplacable first yourself.

When the movers come, number and inventory those boxes. Make sure there's someone watching them get out of the house and on the truck. (If you're in an apartment, stuff can and does get dragged into other apartments while the boxes sit.)

Pick the movers carefully, some of them are outright terrible.

Might be cheaper to dump as much as you can & buy stuff later. I have no problem getting stuff at goodwill or salvation army.

Check out shipping via ups. Might end up cheaper.
