Hi,
I don't know where you are writing from. If I was able to take time off to do something, I would try to help others.

Since I live in the United States, I know about Volunteer Organizations here. Sometimes, you don't even have to be part of an "official" volunteer organization - you just go help someone.

For example, Habitat for Humanity (an "official organization") builds homes for people; or many students on their spring break holiday, who weren't part of any organizatoin went to the New Orleans area to do whatever they could do in that short time to help people who were affected by Hurricane Katrina.

I listed the Peace Corps website below, but you must be a U.S. Citizen. Habitat for Humanity builds globally. If you have any special skills or interest, maybe you could think of how to use those to help others. Even if you can't think of any "special talents," you have them, and the pure desire to help is enough. You can visit older people in Nursing Homes or sick children, etc.

Of course, you have to get permission from a FORMAL REPRESENTATIVE of the hospital or homeless shelter or ANYPLACE where you plan to volunteer. (VERY IMPORTANT - you can't just "show up." :)

I want to be totally clear: I don't think there is ANYTHING wrong with simply taking your holiday and relaxing and enjoying yourself. I just thought since you said, "useful," maybe you wanted some ideas like this.

Take care...

I'm going to guess that you are a school teacher and that you have three months off for summer vacation. If you are, I suggest you take a writing class so that you learn how to write a question correctly. That way you don't pass on your bad writing traits to your students.
good that u r open for suggestions. u can learn some handi crafts and try to sell it in a near by shop. this would help u 2 get pocket money. buy terracota pots and rub it clean with a sand paper for a smooth surface. then paint it with fabric colours with some interesting designs. this would add beauty to your shelves and home. try visiting a orphanage, old age home or some social service organisations and help people out. u can also help the traffic police in regulating the vehicular rush, if your country allows it. try to chat with friends like us and get your questions answered.
