I own a floating floor surrounded by my bathroom and my toilet flanges bolts hold getting loose any suggestion?
Answers: Assuming that the floating floor is laid over a foam layer, the most expected explanation is that the toilet is sitting on the laminate and compressing the foam when someone sits on it. If you have a wax ring it will compress and eventually overrun.
You can either tighten the toilet down rock-hard enough to compress the foam beneath the laminate and hope it seals the toilet to the pipe or you can remove the toilet, replace the wax ring and put some shims below the toilet for it to sit on so it is not supported by the floating floor.
I would go next to the latter because there's a chance you can't apply plenty force to the toilet bolts to compress the foam and the toilet will still sink when someone sits on it. There's also a chance that you could break the toilet by bolting it down too rock-hard and if it starts leaking from underneath it could defacement the floor and subfloor.
I would love to know what a floating floor is.
