My hot water comes out in a trickle from the kitchen faucet & takes forever to get hot. Plenty of cold though.

I have no trap at he end of the faucet so I know it isn't clogged w/ sediment...

Answers:
Try other hot water faucets in the house and see if it is a trickle. If it's normal in the others then it is probably a blockage or a pinched line going to the kitchen sink. If it's a trickle in the other faucets then you need to look at the hot water heater, you could have a pressure valve that is malfunctioning or clogged, or even gotten turned to nearly off by accident. We had a cat do that to ours once.

Maybe your hot water heater is too far away from the tap. I have to wait forever for hot water too, and that's the problem. As far as the trickle, though, I'd say you have a clog somewhere. Have you ever drained your hot water tank? Sediment builds up in the botttom and you're supposed to drain it out at least once a year.
No clue, but it might be your hot water heater or the lines from it. Also in older homes the type of washers they used to use expand when they get hot. My hot water used to come out real fast at the start then decline rapidly after that. Changed washers and now its a steady flow.
sounds like your water pressure is low need your water supplier to check your pressure
the lines from the heater may be corroded blocking the flow.
I suspect that the hot pipe may be old galvanised pipe,
I have seen plenty of them full of gunk, get a plumber,to check it out, if it has gone to God, replace it with poly or copper, get advice first, from a plumber
There is a valve in your faucet that opens both the hot and cold water. This valve commonly called a cartrige is clogged on the hot water side. Turn off the water to the faucet and disassemble the vavle starting with the handle, usually there is a set screw with an allen head that lets the handle get taken off. Next remove the retainer ring under the faucet, typically a large dome shaped piece that will unscrew, use a rag with channel locks to remove it, the pieces to the cartrige are under this.

If you know what type of faucet you have try searcing for the companies website and the exact break down of parts. this might help you find what you need at the hardware store.
Look like you have a pressure problem or the piping system is faulty.most water heater has arrow head sign for correct flow,or the non return valve could be fitted in a REVERSE position .
Sounds like a calcium problem. Where i live we have very hard water (water with a lot of calcium in it) and I have to get the boiler/geyser decalcinated at least two times a year.
Symptoms are exactly the same.
the_super_gr I think has the best answer. Start there first. Faucet parts are always the first things to clog up since the small ports of a 1/4 inch or smaller usually build up debris and usually clog those ports especially on the hot water side.
It may also be in the valve that shuts the water off usually under the sink on the left side, that also could have debris that has closed off that port to the faucet.
Hope this helps.
