I want to mute the bake loss surrounded by my conservatory. It have a flat, triple-wall polycarboante roof.?

The conservatory freezes in the winter and boils contained by the summer. There is little point heating it much at the moment as the steam loss is so great. I have considered:

Adding extra layer of polycarbonate on the inside, but would need nearly 7 inches to bring the u value to in the region of 0.25.

Using solar inserts, but do they really keep fry in?

Fitting a false, lower ceiling and putting insulation above it, making it more of a room than a conservatory.

Any practical suggestions would be appreaciated.

Answers:    First work out where on earth the heat is going.
Are in attendance cracks or holes anywhere? Fix those first.

I saw something called Smart Poly - some brand of inserts that help both contained by winter as well as within summer.

have a look here: http://www.smartpoly.co.uk/
Add tarp or similar internal ceiling blinds that can be closed once the room has warm as well as standard thermal drapes to walls.
