How do you make a tripod out of wood. Doesn't matter how high or what type wood.?

It needs to be able to handle substantial weight.

Answers:
When I was in Boy Scouts, we would lash 3, 5-6' long branches to make a tripod for holding pots over the fire. Hold the three sticks together in a triangle formation and wrap the rope around, finishing with a knot. You can do the same but drill holes and use machine bolts in place of the rope, and you can shave a little off where the pieces meet to make a flatter surface. I would use a good straight grained wood, anything with knots could snap with too much weight. If it's for outdoor use I'd recommend 2x2 pressure treated wood
