How Do I Get Rid Of Moths?
I spoke to the landlord and he says that moths don't fall under the "pests" problems that he is required to take care of and an exterminator is very expensive.
I need a solution that is pet friendly because I have a dog and a bird.
I keep the bird seed, bird bedding and dog food in an airtight container and there are no bugs around them.
I know I didn't bring the moths when I moved because I have never had them before.
Anyway, I would appreciate any help! These little buggers are driving me crazy!!
Thanks a lot.

A friend of mine had that problem and was told it was coming from the birdseed. Try to make sure any pasta's, birdseed, wheat products, oats, cereal, etc. are in airtight containers. Also they make special boxes they will fly into and trap them. Can't tell you right off where to get them......They are feeding on something, and that will get rid of the source. My friend had them everywhere and they were nesting under her kitchen cabinet drawers. Moth Balls won't work, as how could you even see those little Moth's balls anyway.......that was supposed to make you laugh at a very nerve racking situation. Don't let breads with yeast out........keep everything sealed. Good luck. (Look for those boxes that trap the moths...check out King Arthur Flour, Lehman's Hardware, go on the search. Also Wal-mart and hardware stores carry "Fly-strips". They are waxy covered papers that the moths fly into and stick too. That would help. You will win, just FIGHT!

The moth type bugs can be coming from your litter or the food in your birds cage. Always freeze your bird food, (except the food in his cup of course) and make sure you use a good litter for the birds cage. ( bed-of-cob, or the pressed paper)
There is a type of moth trap that really works. I get moths in my kitchen cabinets sometimes. I'm linking to one brand, but if you do a web search for "moth traps" you will find others. They are really all the same, a folded piece of cardboard forming a triangle. Inside, you place a small square of pheromone that attracts moths, which then stick to a glue surface. I buy them in a hardware store or in a supermarket near the pesticides.
USE moth balls
