do the new outside water spigot have a check freeze valve in them?

do you have to replace the entire valve if they froze? i have a spigot that won't work

Answers:
The new ones do if that is what you purchased. Yes you replace the whole thing, it's about a foot long. If it froze, it will not leak until you turn the spigot on. If you are real good at sweating pipe, you could just replace the pipe section but it is more trouble than it is worth in my opinion. Good luck.

Houses aren't normally built with an anti-freeze spigot. They are easy to install though. They come in two lengths and you need to buy the one that reaches through to the inside of your wall. The valve is then inside your house and seats inside the wall.
