How do i lay a sidewalk?
Answers:
Putting down a sidewalk is probably more difficult that what can be explained here. You should probably go to your local library and look up a home improvement book that involves sidewalks and patios.
Other answers:
Take it out for a meal, laugh at it's jokes, tell it it's beautiful and get it drunk.

concrete diy site - has instructions for many projects
Just dig out the length and width you want go 2-3 inches down. You make a Form with some 1x4's then just fill with concrete. Look how they made. Every so far you use a 1x4 to separate the concrete into sections. This allows for Expansion and Contraction with the weather so the concrete not crack. Have a good Straight 2x4 that reach across the form from side to side and using a sliding pattern work across the fresh cement to level it with your form, which needs to be level with your grade, mainly, each side level with the other, can go up/down hill, just keep sides of form level. IF, you can try to keep the concrete moist as it dries it make it stronger. I know this is short, but, should help. You can do this, take some time and learn, may be able to get a Book at your Public Library to read some about Concrete and forms and possibly Sidewalks. Good Luck.
first buy it a few drinks,.,,,no man,, try cutting out the sod ,,then gravel acouple inches then two by 4 frames around it use a level on a piece of lathe to span the 5 ft width and raise the imside about an inch with a one inch shim then pour the cement in and float it out after spreading with a spade then afer floating rough trowel it and bang the frames with a hammer to settle the air out then smooth trowel it and use the edge tool to make the outside smooth water on it makes it slide good, thenafter it sets for a few hours spray a mist of water on it andthat brings the white color up and slows the cure to make it stronger, two days later bang loose the boards off the cement pins and resod the edges sorry about the bad joke,, an olde concrete dude Ps The concrete can be floated rough with a board that reaches across the span and thats a saving on a float buy some burgers and some brews and invite a few people to help turf and frame and float thats then a fast way
