Delicate dress issues?
you know that big plastic alram thingie that the stores put on clothes so that you cant just walk out without paying?
well, the cashier didnt see it under all of the layers (neither did i), the store alarm didnt go off, and now it's stuck on my dress.
how do i get it off without ruining the delicate fabric??
i cant go back to the store because its a good hour away from my house.
i've tried to wiggle it off with a flat head screw driver but it was starting to take effect on the fabric so i stopped.
help please!

Maybe if you've loosened it up a little you could try to cut the metal that connects the pin to the sensor with wire cutters. Also, you could try to remove it if you have a strong magnet.
The best option of course is to take it back to the store and have it removed with the receipt, and then the dress will definitely not get damaged.

I would think that your only option it to suck it up, and take it back with proof of that you did buy it.

There are many stores that have this problem now. All you need to do is call around to your local stores to see if they have a way of removing the plastic tags. You may want to take the receipt for proof that you actually bought the dress (just in case the store has another one exactly like it).
the fashion police are on their way
Hi!
You need to go to a store. They have a special device to take those things off. Now, the problem is that if you do not go to the same store, they'll probably think you stole the dress.
If you bought it at a chain store, or a department store. Go to one of the branches closer to your house, explain the situation and ask for the favor to remove it.
ALWAYS CARRY WITH YOU YOUR PURCHASE RECEIPT!
Even if you are going to try another store.
Now... be careful even with the device to remove they plastic thingies, when they actually remove it. When fabrics are delicate, even if the salesperson is not careful, they can tear the fabric while taking it out.
Be there!
And stop trying yourself if you have doubts. Its a hard thing to do, and if the store tears the fabric, they can respond... if you tear it, you'll only have a damaged dress.
Good luck!
Don't try to take it off yourself! You'll ruin your dress. Only the people in the store have the right key to unlock the clamp. You have to take it back, as the previous person who replied wrote.
Go to another store closer to your place that uses the same alarm thingy. Take your receipt and the dress and ask them if they are willing to remove it for you.
It may be that you have to suck it up and travel the hour back to the store to have the alarm thing removed and you should do it sooner rather than later.
Good luck!
It has to be removed with the special took made for removing it. You might have to go to the store. I would call the manager of the store and explin wht happened. You should certainly be reimbursed for your trouble ... maybe some money bck on the price of the dress or a store gift card.
You need to take it back to have it removed. Bring your receipt. Don't try to pry it off, some of them have red or blue dye inside and will ruin your dress.
