using a ladder stand-off correctly?
Answers:
if in fact your referring to an "extension ladder" then yes, the catch braces at the bottom of the rising extension are designed to catch any rung of the base of the ladder, with-out worry of collapsing.
Other answers:
Put it were the ladder manufacturers say to, if it is too low you will pivot off it and kick the bottom out...then its a possible ride in the red limosine (with the cool siren) to the hospital.....

no the stand off is best to be 1-2 rungs down you can put it half way down if it will fit just remember that the ladder stand has to be horizontal at all times and for every metre out, you go 4 up so 4:1 and remember that if you do have the stand off 4 rungd down dont stand on the 4th rung, remember the ballance thing, im a decorator and use these all the time
It is meant to be on the top section. If you decide to use it elsewhere, you are on your own if anything should happen to you!
Whatever you do, please be careful not to hurt yourself!!
