Answers:
Buy two to three cans of hornet and wasp spray from your local hardware store. Get up between the hours of 3 to 6 am when the wasp are asleep. Grab a flashlight and wear long sleeved clothing and long pants. I wore a hoodie the first time I sprayed wasps to make myself feel safer, but really unnecessary. I would also wear safety goggles to prevent the spray from getting into your eyes. Although the spray has a distance of 20+ ft it tends to leave a trail along its path.
Use a ladder to get as close as you can to the nest, then spray.
A wasp nest is pretty contained, so there are a limited number of openings. Cover the openings with the spray which will turn into foam. Keep spraying until you see no more movement from the wasps. Many of them will drop down onto the ground. The sprays are very effective and the wasps don't tend to move a lot at night and in the early morning.
Knock down the nest with a stick and bag it up to be thrown away. I wouldn't touch the nest with my bare hands. Just knock it into the bag with your stick. Since yours are so high up try using a hose the next day to get it down.

Call an exterminator or smoke them out. Better use an exterminator. Good luck.
find a wasp spray that will reachs 25 ft then run like hell!!
When it is dark outside, knock it down then burn it.
seriously... call an exterminator! it's like $150 and some places tack on a "stinging fee".
if it was easy to DIY and didn't cause potential harm... i'd have your answer :-) i just got rid of a two nests last month.
Go to your local hardware/home supply store. They should sell bee/hornet/wasp sprays that shoot high-powered jets of spray for some distance. Get one of those and fire away.
Has anyone ever captured a swarm of honey bees?
