how do you chose where to place a ceiling fan in a room?
Answers:
Get as close to center as possible. Depending on the joist layout, you may have to off-center it a few inches one way or the other. Some DIYers will just notch the ceiling joist to install the electrical box center, but I wouldn't recommend it, no one will notice if it's not exactly centered, and you shouldn't be cutting into joists. Make sure the electrical box is sufficiently supported as the weight of the fan and centrifugal force of it spinning creates a lot more downward stress than a simple light fixture.

in the center if you need it to move air evenly.

Where the light is at?????
middle
usually the centre so air blows evenly.but if its a bif room place it directly above the bed
on the floor.. its unique
the most logical place would be the ceiling. Imagine installing it on the floor, leaving it on at night, and stepping out of bed in the morning.lol
Preferably where the dressing table is or somewhere where it gets hot.
Or even maybe where you sleep.
You need access to electricity and access to a support beam. Other than that, you want it to be a place where it will enhance the circulation of the room. You want to take into consideration how you will use and furnish the room. But the biggest issue is good support. You don't want a ceiling fan crashing down on your head.
there usualy placed in the centre of the ceiling.
The most efficient is in the centre - assuming a regular-shaped room. But the easiest is where there is an existing, because the cabling and the ceiling box are already there. (Check that ceiling box carefully, fans weigh more than lights...)
If there is an existing light, drop it after shutting off the power to it, and make sure it has enough support to carry the weight.
If no light, tape string in oposite corners and attempt to position light as close to where the strings cross as possible. If you encounter a beam above, try to stay as close to crossed strings as possible with hole for fixture.
If you haven't done this before, you may wish you hadn't started, as you can make a terrible mess of the ceiling.
It can get pretty involved for a beginner.
Normally in the center of the room. Take string and run to opposite corners, making an X on the ceiling. Where the 2 strings cross in the center is where you would hang the fan.
