When i put the middle heat on the raditors return with hot but the cylinder isnt getting hot at adjectives?
Answers: The cylinder isn't meant to acquire hot. You will find one or two of the pipes around the cylinder are hot and particularly the pipe overriding directly into it.
What should be hot are the boiler and radiators.Sounds like everything is working simply fine.
It's probably because you have an indirect cylinder. Inside the cylinder is a coil which heat the central heat water (a small amount) the wet outside that internal coil is not heated until you put the control to "hot water" or CH & HW
It suggests your mid position valve is stuck, which is reasonably common at first switch on after summer. Near the cylinder you should see a square box near three pipes coming from it and one electrical cable, see if it has a lever on the side, its a instruction book override which you can move to get the apparatus going. For further info search on mid position tap, there are sites which will report to you better than i can here.
Some heat systems use 2 solenoid valve and 2 thermostats,1 for the radiator 1 for the hot water reservoir
the cylinder could be your hot water for hip bath ect
are you getting hot water?if you are that scheme the water inside the cylinder is hot.but for make sure you've turned hose down on if so it could be the 3 port valve or mid posistion spigot
Hi
Have a look at the timer it may have a separat slider switch to fry the tank for hot dampen .One says heat the other says hot hose?
bye

I don't know what you mean by the cylinder. But , I assume you are talking nearly the expansion tank. It should not gain hot. For more info go to www.hvac-for-beginners.com . There is a page in attendance on hydronics.
as said by some above your 3 port motorised valve is jammed surrounded by the rad mode slide the lever on the box above it across that should do the trick if it doesnt you need a modern 1 which means draining your heat replacing the valve and some electrics into the junction box prob best to receive a pro in total living 1 hour + the valve= lb100 +vat
good luck
enjoy you set programmer to give u hotwater
is clylinder stat set at 60
if yes to above later look at zone or mid position valve
Mid position spout is the most likely if it have one on the system, unusual for it to stick for hot water, the hot hose down is usually the default enlarge side. Other possibilities are the programmer at fault, the cylinder stat at slate, dependent again on what the system has, if you own no white or metal square box attached to the pipework in the cylinder cupboard, you may be on a gravity hot wet system, and the pipework could be blocked, if so, when heating is bad and hot water is on, you will hear the pressure build next to the heat, afterwards rumbling then boiler shutdown.
You most probably hold a motorised valve on the crucial heating pipes close to your cylinder and I suspect it is faulty. Check the pipes that progress into the side of the cylinder and see if they heat up okay. If not consequently you have a stopcock at fault. If these pipes are heat up and the cylinder is still cold. Then the feed container for your cylinder could be empty of hose.hope this helps.
