How Much Does It Cost To Rent A 'Bobcat' Type Tractor?

I want to intall a retaining wall in my back yard & need to move some dirt . . . does anybody know about how much it would cost to have a bobcat dropped off at my house for a day? Also . . do they require that you know how to drive one . . or do they figure it it your house & your damage type thing?

Answers:

You have to get the bob cat to your place, with your own vehicle in most places...

Now, in Northeast Ohio, its about 150.00 for four hours, (yea, them little things get expensive to rent), you may get a break if you rent it for a day or two...

I wish you well..

You do not have to know how to dirve one. however it is very differnt from driving a car so becarfull and practice before you go to work. it will cost you about $100 a day or so (i think). there should be a construction equipment rental place in your town. I think it would be easier to just do it by hand depanding on the amount of dirt you have to move. But it is really fun to drive a bobcat. just look it up in the phone book.
Price around, my BIL gives special weekend rates. He is a salesman for Deere Small Equipment. He always goes out and trains his customers in using the machine and attaching and detaching any tools they might need on a skid loader (Bobcat is a brand name FYI). You may just want to hire someone like him to do a couple of hour work too. It may get you where you want faster. That's why he also owns his own Sod and Lawn business.
100-200 a day . Plus delivery and Insurance.
( insurance is for them NOT you)
Yes they will assume you know how to use it. But if you are renting from a HEavy Equipment place they will want you to most likely fill out a credit app since they dont know you.
You can rent a mini bobcat ( measure to see if you can get any equioment in your yard)from some tool rental places etc.

Both are tricky to drive if you have no experience, and may cause you more time and trouble than its worth.
SOmetimes you can rent an operated bobcat by looking for a small construction company,.
