A light bulb is stuck in a lamp with a glass cone shade. How do you get it out?

Answers:
Unplug the lamp. Tap the bulb and break it ...outside the house preferably over a garbage can. Get some needle nose pliers and remove the bulb by holding the filament or the edge of the bulb.
If the cone shade comes off even better. m

Other answers:
cut a potato in half stick that sucker onto the broken bulb and unscrew it
cut a potato in half stick that sucker onto the broken bulb and unscrew it
a potato. or chip away at the glass till you can get to the filament without cutting your self.
Yeah you could use a carrot also.
make sure it is unpluged and turn the metal base off the bulb with pillers
break it then use a potato.
can you get a potato to fit in it? if so, take one and stick it down on the broken bulb so that the bulb sticks in it and then turn the potato just like your twisting out the bulb!

well shoot, when I started answering, you had no answers!
Be SURE you UNPLUG the lamp before attempting either of the methods listed!
Unplug lamp, try to remove shade if you can't get to the bulb. Be careful!
What do you mean stuck?
Is the bulb just screwed in too tight?
Is it broken?
I have had broken bulbs that I had to remove with pliers or even by splitting the aluminum in the bulb base to get it out.
YEAH , YEAH , YEAH..,
Try taking a potato.., take a knife and cut off the smallest of the elliptical ends.., place the cut end over the bulb that is to be removed.., push down , then unscrew it.
OH YEAH!
Make sure that the lamp is unplugged!!
AHHHH!......leave the potato for dinner....if youve unplugged it its not going to shock you, get out the ole needle nose pliers...fast no muss no fuss....
Did you get the lamp shade off? If so, I use a pair of pliers to do this. Grab a hold of the side piece or a piece you can get a hold of, and twist. Make sure the lamp is NOT pugged in when you do this.
I agree, use the potatoe or even a pear cause its a little softer but will do the job
UNPLUG THE LAMP FIRST. Using pliers and wearing a leather work glove, break the bulb, and after clearing the debris, shove the tip of the pliers into the base and unscrew it. A little Vaseline on the bulb will prevent this.
unplugg and use a half of a potato..
