how do you hook up thermostat for baseboard heaters?
Answers:
There are wires from your wall as well as from the heater......make sure you hook up red wire to red wire and black wire to black wire. It is the simplest kind of wiring to hook up. And yes basically it is like hooking up a basic light switch. Good luck sounds like you might be remodeling!! :o)

it acts like a switch to the valve that opens the hot water to your baseboard. It allows current to the valve, and when satisified, shuts off the current, and the valve closes.
Is it electric heat? It's probably 220. Be careful or pay a pro if you don't know what you're doing.
Not really enough exact info to advise, main central heat source is what needs control if thats system. otherwise more than one individual baseboard would need supervisory control circuit. also is it line voltage tx or low transformer voltage type?
I am assuming you are talking about electric baseboard heater. Thermostats for these heaters can be made for putting right on the heater or in an electrical wall box. I would use a double pole thermostat either way you go. On the unit thermostats come with wiring diagram. They usually have 2 red wires and 2 black wires. The red is normally your line side and the black the load side. Wall thermostats are marked line and load. If this info. is not enough to help you I suggest you get a professional to help you.Good luck.
